I still look all black kidneys, but the all chrome ones are nice too(ones on the 50i models). One or the other for me.

According to WebMD, black kidneys means that you have cancer.

I'm not too keen on all chrome for some reason. I had the car completely black, except for wheels, and I just peeled it all off

I'll take my chances.

I have the gloss black ones on my m3 simply because chrome ones make no sence on a car with no chrome on it. Plus I think they look more agressive. Matte black ones look cheap though.

Was it one of those "fuck it let's see what happens" kind of things? Yeah, happens to me too.

I think it depends on colour. My BMWs Black, so I had the whole thing blacked out. But I dig the dash of chrome now on the kidneys and the trim above the doors

Well it's plasti dip, so there's no harm in any of it. I thought putting it back stock might help it sell.

But 'fuck it let's see what happens' is generally the case for anything plasti dip

That's the magic of plasti-dip! Easy to change back any time you want.

M3s have no chrome on the windows so it literally goes with nothing. I swapped my fender gills with gloss black and my trunk badge is gloss black too. No chrome on my m3, but on my black Mercedes it's looks great due to the difference in color. It does depend on paint color and some people like the murdered out look too. Think agressive vs classy.

Also, if it's an E46 M3, you don't have to take shit from anybody. Unless you also wear white Oakleys while driving it. then that's void

I'd go for something like X5 5.0's have. My E90 has no chrome except the kidneys, so I replaced them with titanium like on the X5. It's pretty much a matte silver, and it looks great on black.

It's an e92, not oakleys but I do wear nikes. Then again they are prescription so I guess I only deserve half douche status?

Depends on if you know how to change your own oil. Props to you for owning an E92 M3. I'd talk shit for 'V8s not right blah blah blah,' but I can't afford one anyway.

I would keep it chrome on a black car for contrast, although anything else I would want it black.

How did the plasti dip hold up... Thinking that isn't the easiest spot for it. I almost bought an e90 with a black grill factory option and it was matte black on alpine white. Looked good.

I have a soft spot for an e46 but the v8 is such an intoxicating sound. I love the rasp of the s54 though. I haven't changed the oil on my m3 yet (free maintenance still) but I practically rebuilt my saab.

The plasti dip held up excellent. I've never had any problems with dip peeling. I had plasti dipped wheels that held up through mudding and a powerwasher. It's a great product.

Well I only have a 330xi so I wouldn't know. I'd probably like it more if it was a stick, but so far it's kind of boring. It's really great at everything. The steering is wonderful, but I keep forgetting that it's good. I've never driven any M3, which is a shame, but I suspect I'd like it a lot more.

Actually, I've never driven a turbo Saab either. The FWD kinda deters me. Is it any good?

I hate it on white cars, that's the most opinion I have on this topic.

My saab is a wolf in sheep clothing. It's a 92x so it's really as subaru impreza and it has awd. I wish it had a manual but it does have an engine swapped from an sti, you win some you lose some. An M3 actually has lighter steering at low speeds then a non m3, it feels telepathic almost. Just go to a dealer that has a preowned one, say your thinking about upgrading. They'll toss you the keys without further questioning usually.

I think they are very played out. They look good on M's, however.

If I look at used listings, it's a useful marker to me that the owner likely abused it (//M POWER BROO!!!11) or in much rarer cases, actually took care of it. I would much rather buy an unmodified Bimmer and not take the risk. For some strange reason for me, black kidneys = molested. I'd still put in-house upgrades though if I had one.

True, but dealing with dealers is such a pain. Using Craigslist people is kind of rude, I know, but it's a lot easier if I want to drive something.

I actually had a WRX wagon (92x aero equivalent) I loved that turd.

Lovable turd is a good explanation. I never have issues dealing with dealers, you just have to find the right one. Try to find a Porsche dealer with a m3, shouldn't be that hard. They're the easiest to deal with, right next to Lexus and Mercedes. Honestly I have an easier time getting test drives at luxury car dealers then Honda or Toyota.

If you have to valet park your bimmer and lose the ticket, it will make your car easier to find.

Oh it certainly is! My bad. From the photo angle, I was getting this really hatchbacky vibe (the boot/trunk doesnt look very prominent) and I thought it looked really nice. But thats because it's a nice car regardless. Im pretty jealous now!

I'm not a fan. It looks ok on a black car, or if the car has black wheels and some other accents. But I think it just looks cheesy on a stock car or when it doesn't match any of the other trim.
